Blogfession: How I Spent My Weekend
2009 June 15
SBux – 39th & Sandy / Portland, OR This weekend I watched the documentary The King of Kong (1 hr, 19 min), the movie Gone Baby Gone (1 hr, 54 min); Game 5 of the NBA Finals (1 hr, 53 min); and the entire first season of The Sopranos (11 hr, 16 min).
Total: 16 hours, 22 minutes
I’m a role model for the kids.

You managed to watch that much just on Saturday!? Quite commendable, indeed. King of Kong is awesome.
I know Wendell Berry reads this blog so I will be discreet: I watched all six seasons of The Sopranos in one month, watching the final, amazing episode just last Saturday – right around the time you were watching the Pilot.
If its any consolation, there were those at the 700 club that watched it (at work) every day.
I did the same thing one week a few years back and I think you’re right, we need to share this with our brothers and sisters west of Jersey. I liked the first few seasons when the shrink played a stronger role. What do you think?
This is my second time through the series (except for the last half of the last season, which I have yet to watch) and I’m amazed at how good it is right off the bat. I love the scenes with Dr. Melfi but can understand why they might have moved away from this as the story progressed. Such a great idea, though. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen these episodes, which is actually heightening my sense of anticipation, and it is all I can do to keep from running to Blockbuster so I can watch Season 2 in another Sopranos binge.
Wow, and I thought I was a couch potato. I hope you went outside and read under a tree for a few hours to counteract the boob tube effect!
On a similar note, I just purchased seasons 1-3 of Lost and will be doing a 5 season marathon between September and January, god help my brain.
